Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Ferros Steps (developed by Valentin Barral) handles user information.

App identifier: com.narubane.ferrossteps

Information Collection

Ferros Steps does not collect or transmit personal or health data to the developer or to external servers. The app does not require an account and does not include advertising, analytics or tracking.

Apple Health and HealthKit

With your permission, Ferros Steps reads only step-count data from Apple Health through HealthKit. It uses this information to show today's steps, progress toward an optional daily goal, activity history and widgets.

Access is read-only: Ferros Steps does not add, change or delete data in Apple Health. Health data is not sold, used for advertising or shared with third parties by the app.

You can manage or revoke the app's access to your steps at any time in Apple Health or your device's settings.

Data Usage and Local Storage

The app processes step data on your device. It stores preferences, such as your daily step goal and appearance, locally. A cached step count and its date, together with your goal, are stored in a local App Group shared only by Ferros Steps and its widget extension so the widgets can display your activity.

The cached step count is used only for the day it belongs to. Your activity history is read from Apple Health; it is not uploaded to a separate service.

Third-Party Services

Ferros Steps uses Apple's system frameworks, including HealthKit and WidgetKit, and does not include third-party advertising or analytics services. Apple Health and other Apple services are subject to Apple's privacy policies.

Data Retention

The developer does not receive or retain your step data or app preferences. Preferences and the widget cache remain on your device until they are replaced or the app's local data is removed. Step records in Apple Health remain under your control and are managed independently of Ferros Steps.

Data Deletion

You can remove the app and its widgets to remove their locally stored data. Uninstalling Ferros Steps does not delete your step records in Apple Health. You can manage or delete those records separately in Apple Health.

Since no personal or health data is stored by the developer, there is no server-side account or data to delete. If you have questions about local data or Health permissions, contact the developer for assistance.
